This University of Essex course offers advanced training in key methodological and theoretical aspects of health-related research from a social scientific perspective. During the student’s studies they will combine perspectives from sociological and health research methods, enabling students to investigate complex health related issues using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
The course includes opportunities to learn from experienced staff in the School of Health and Social Care and the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER). Modules on statistical analysis and survey design will develop students’ quantitative research and analysis skills, including training with statistical analysis packages (e.g. STATA).
